Steven Stack, sociology professor in the Criminal Justice Department, was awarded the Ig Nobel Prize for research that found a correlation between suicide rates and country music listeners. Stack's interest in conducting the country music-suicide study occurred when he and Gundlach were "analyzing urban suicide rates and looking for a new angle," Stack said.
